UIPI joined a coalition of 41 associations from the real estate and built environment sector aiming at raising the importance of our sector for the EU’s economy and citizens with EU decision-makers and give it a greater ‘weighting’ in the policy-making process.
A letter was addressed to the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, and the college of Commissioners. The letter states that a healthy and well-functioning real estate sector is important for jobs, growth and investment as well as mobility. Its complexity and scale requires a coherent and well-informed approach by European legislators. We call for an ambitious and strategic and long-term approach to the real estate sector in the EU that recognizes the importance and diversity of the sector, and which results in coordinated policy measures that support sustainable economic growth, whilst respecting the principles of subsidiarity.
