INSPIRE-US implements an integrated one-stop shop (OSS) designed to tackle the urgent need for decarbonising Spain’s private rented housing. This service acts as a single-entry point for property owners, transforming a fragmented and complex renovation process into a streamlined, holistic, and fully managed journey.
The value for property owners
The OSS provides a clear path to modernising assets by offering comprehensive end-to-end support, including technical diagnosis, financial planning, and the sourcing and contracting of suppliers. By managing the complexity of permits and grant applications, the project removes the bureaucratic burden and makes energy upgrades financially viable for landlords.
Crucially, the service provides specialised solutions to address the split-incentive dilemma, ensuring that investments protect the property’s long-term value while improving tenant comfort, security, and energy affordability.
UIPI’s contribution
UIPI supports the creation of the OSS by bringing expertise from past OSS initiatives across Europe. We also promote the exchange with other OSS and foster European recognition of the specific model INSPIRE-US develops to potentially replicate it in other regions and countries.
