UIPI welcomes new Swedish Member

1 January 2020, Brussels – The International Union of Property Owners (UIPI) starts the new year by welcoming a new Member: the Swedish Property Federation (SPF) – Fastighetsägarna. This addition not only extends UIPI membership base, but it further reinforces its diversified profile as a key EU representative body of the entire private residential and non-residential real estate sector.
The Swedish Property Federation (SPF) – Fastighetsägarna, is the leading trade association for the private real estate sector in Sweden since 1914. It encompasses the entire spectrum of private property, ranging from small scale property owners and tenants/owners’ cooperatives (i.e. the Swedish form of joint ownership) to professional landlords and large real estate companies in the residential and non-residential market. The SPF counts 15.000 property owners, the majority of them being small property owners with 1 to 5 residential properties. The Federation aims to promote a functioning real estate sector, integrating safe environments and neighbourhoods, while building responsible relationships with tenants, residents, employees and suppliers.
With Fastighetsägarna on board, UIPI now counts 30 member associations from 28 countries in Europe.
We are very happy to welcome Fastighetsägarna ! Their strong position in Sweden and their leading knowledge on the property industry will reinforce UIPI, its representativeness in Brussels as well as our in-house expertise. We already have a very active member in Sweden, Villaägarna – the Swedish homeowners associations, and now with Fastighetsägarna we are taking the leap towards representing all types of private property owners in Sweden.
Joining UIPI is a strategic decision for the SPF. By becoming a member, we will be able to have a say in EU legislation important for the real estate sector, while creating better conditions for the real estate industry.
