Let’s activate condominium renovations in the Basque Country
On 1 October 2024, from 14:30 to 17:00, UIPI will host the event “Let’s activate condominium renovations in the Basque Country” The Social Hub Hotel (San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa, Spain).
This event will bring together representatives from all stakeholders involved in condominium renovation, including property owners, property managers, industry experts, and one-stop shop pilot representatives, for a fruitful discussion on key topics surrounding the renovation of condominiums. The sessions will explore past experiences, available tools, and the replicability of other initiatives both from Spain and from Europe in the Basque Country. Attendees and panelists will also debate on who can drive Condominium renovations at individual, condominium, and neighbourhood levels.
Our aim is that this session will help pave the way to streamline condominium renovations by exploring innovative solutions, share best practices, and discuss ways to promote effective building renovations while involving different actors in the process. This is a unique opportunity for those committed to sustainable housing, energy efficiency, and community-driven renovation projects.

Massifying condominium renovations in the Basque Country with Renpower
Let’s activate condominium renovations in the Basque Country acts as a backdrop to the launch of our latest project Renpower. The main goal of this new European project is to offer a comprehensive service of support and assistance to homeowner communities in the Basque Country (Spain) and Ireland to improve the energy performance and comfort of their homes. To achieve this, Renpower will develop and test a one-stop shop (OSS) model while promoting active citizen participation in the energy transition.
Renpower is funded by the LIFE programme of the European Commission and is coordinated by energy cooperative Goiener S.Coop and partnered by Ecovision, an Irish cooperative specializing in supporting homeowners and energy rehabilitation of their buildings and UIPI as representative of property owners. By joining forces, the three entities will broaden their knowledge and experiences at the European level to ensure that no home is left out of the energy transition.
