The International Union of Property Owners (UIPI) announces the election of its new President, Dr. Kai H. Warnecke, following a vote during the UIPI Board meetings held in Berlin on 26 September 2024. Dr. Warnecke will officially begin his mandate on 1 January 2025, taking over from Stratos Paradias, who has been involved in UIPI’s leadership for 40 years.

Dr. Warnecke currently serves as President of Haus und Grund Deutschland, Germany’s largest association of property owners. He is a leading figure in the housing and building sector in Germany, with a proven track record of influencing policy. His deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing property owners, combined with his long-standing and strong involvement within UIPI, makes him well-equipped to lead the association into the future.

Stratos Paradias, who has served as UIPI’s President for the last 20 years, leaves behind an enduring legacy. His leadership contributed to establishing UIPI as a vital voice for property owners across Europe. Under his guidance, the organisation became a central advocate for property owners’ interests, working on key issues at EU level. Paradias’ influence shaped UIPI into the organisation it is today, and his contributions will remain a cornerstone of its future efforts.

Dr. Warnecke steps into his new role with a clear vision for UIPI’s future. In accepting the position, Dr. Warnecke expressed his gratitude and vision:

“I am honoured to take on this role and continue the work of my predecessor, Stratos Paradias. I look forward to building on UIPI’s legacy of strong advocacy while ensuring we adapt to the challenges of today’s property markets. Together, we will promote sustainable and fair housing solutions for property owners across Europe.”
