About us

Our Mission

UIPI is the leading European voice for private property owners and landlords, representing their interests at national, European and international level for over a century.

UIPI represents a wide spectrum of private property owners, from individual homeowners and small private landlords to owners active in the private-rented and commercial sectors.

Through its European presence, UIPI promotes balanced housing policies, protects property rights and supports a stable, fair and sustainable rental market across Europe, including support for dispossessed owners in former communist countries.

Creation of the International Union

Paris

The Union Internationale de la Propriété Foncière Bâtie (UIPFB) is founded with the aim of structuring a global movement of property-owner associations. Its objective is to defend private property owners in the aftermath of the First World War, at a time when property rights were fragile and increasingly challenged by rent controls, territorial claims and authoritarian political trends.
