Your voice can shape the future of building renovation and building-related climate policy in Europe! UIPI is carrying out a survey on the sustainable and energy efficient renovation of buildings to gather your perspective, as a property owner or a real estate professional. Your experience should help us in understanding the needs, drivers and challenges building owners face in their building renovation journey.
In 2021, a UIPI survey revealed that 77% of European property owners believed it was beneficial to make their properties more energy-efficient and sustainable. Despite this strong willingness, financial barriers were significant, with 31% citing economic constraints as a major obstacle, and 54% indicating that subsidies and grants would encourage them to renovate.
Three years later, with major changes on the horizon for the building sector, notably following the adoption of the new Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) soon to be transposed into national law, UIPI is launching a new survey to collect private property owners’ views and answer the key questions amidst these regulatory changes: What can property owners do? What have they done so far and what they are planning to do? What motivate them or what are the challenges they face?
To help answer these questions and make the voice of property owners heard in the European Union, we ask you to fill in the survey on Property Owners’ Perspectives and Experiences on Building Renovation. By participating, you will help us to raise your view, propositions and concerns in the EU and national policy debates. Your answers will help us to promote future policies that are affordable, effective and acceptable for you and your sector! And you will have the chance to win a 50-euro Amazon gift card!*
This survey is part of a joint study by One Click Reno, Build Up Speed, Condoreno and Craft EU projects with the aim of promoting a sustainable renovation wave that works for all parties involved, including property owners.
The questionnaire is available in multiple languages and takes around 10 minutes to complete. We kindly ask you to fill it in and thank you in advance for your participation.

*Raffle basis
Eligibility: The raffle is open to residents of the EU aged 18 or over with a valid email address. One entry per person.
Prize: A total of five 50-EUR Amazon gift cards will be raffled among all eligible participants. Each participant is eligible to win only one prize.
Selection: Winners will be randomly selected from all eligible entries one day after the survey closes. The organiser reserves the right to change the date of the draw.
Notification: Winners will be notified via email up to two times within seven days of the draw. Winners must claim their prize within five working days of notification. If a winner does not respond within this timeframe they will be disqualified, and another winner will be selected following the same procedure. Once an alternate winner is chosen, the previously selected winner will be disqualified. No disqualification appeals will be entertained.
